We are proud to announce that the new Quénet’s Paarl store will be a fully-fledged Vortex Experience Centre.

Combining expert product knowledge with the complete Vortex range, the new store will offer customers the full Vortex Experience under one roof.

Quénet’s The Great Outdoors began its journey in 1972, born from a deep passion for the outdoors by George Alfred Quénet. What started as a small store beside Quénet’s Pharmacy in Worcester soon became far more than just a shop—it became a place of stories, shared experiences, and a lifelong love for nature.

Rooted in the heart of the Worcester community, Quénet’s grew into a sanctuary for adventurers, hunters, anglers, and families alike. Each item on its shelves was carefully chosen for quality and reliability, while its walls echoed with laughter, advice, and tales of the outdoors. It was, and still is, a place where people come not only to prepare for their next journey—but to feel part of something bigger.

As the years passed, George’s son, Anton, took the reins—carrying forward his father’s vision with the same passion and dedication. In time, the third generation stepped in, with Nicholas joining the journey. Today, father and son stand side by side, continuing to build and grow what George so humbly began, shaping it into a legacy for the Quénet family and generations to come.

Now, an exciting new chapter begins. In May 2026, Quénet’s The Great Outdoors proudly opens its doors in Paarl—marking the next step in our journey and the expansion of our family. A second home for the same passion, expertise, and spirit of adventure.
