[Washington, D.C./Pretoria] Safari Club International (SCI) and the Professional Hunter’s Association of South Africa (PHASA) are pleased to announce a landmark collaborative agreement between the organizations.
The objectives of the collaboration between SCI and PHASA include:
With an aligned vision on these goals, this partnership sets the stage for enhanced cooperation on several mutual interest areas, such as promoting responsible hunting standards, conservation efforts, education, and African community development. As “Preferred Conservation Partners,” both organizations have agreed to share expertise, technology, and facilities, and hold annual meetings to guide these mutual objectives.
SCI has also committed to maintaining an office in Pretoria, South Africa, with dedicated staff to liaise between SCI, PHASA, and other relevant parties.

Laird Hamberlin, CEO of Safari Club International. “PHASA, which has been widely recognized as ‘the voice for the South African professional hunting industry,’ will be a tremendous asset to SCI’s conservation efforts and the ongoing fight against threats to hunting not only in Africa but also around the world.”
