Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” – compact laser binoculars now available in a special, limited version

The smallest Leica laser binoculars combine the outstanding developments of 30 years’ experience: superior optics, precise rangefinding, a multifunctional ballistics calculator, and compact ergonomics. The current edition of the Leica Geovid Pro 32 in Olive Green is technically identical to the Leica Geovid Pro 32 with black rubber armoring.

Wetzlar, Germany. December 11, 2023. With the new Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green”, Leica Sport Optics presents universal rangefinder binoculars that boast multiple unsurpassed performance features. The Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” sets a new benchmark in the premium professional segment, combining outstanding optics, precise rangefinding, a multifunctional ballistics calculator, and an ergonomic design based around a 32-mm lens diameter. The Leica engineers had set out to develop an extremely compact rangefinder glass with superior optics. This goal was achieved – coincidentally, as the most affordable model in this premium performance class.

The ultimate in high-end optics

The compact, lightweight Leica Geovid Pro binoculars achieve a level of optical performance previously known only in specialty binoculars without rangefinders. One reason for this high performance is the Perger-Porro prisms used by Leica. The Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” can be used wherever a high level of detail is required. Brilliant color, contrast, and image sharpness are indispensable, for example, when identifying animal species. With its high light transmission combined with a large field of view, the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” can replace premium binoculars without compromise – and becomes an absolutely universal glass thanks to its additional features.

Rangefinding expertise in a nutshell

The laser rangefinder built into the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” draws on 30 years of Leica Sport Optics research, expertise, and innovative development. By measuring the travel time of a laser beam emitted and reflected at the speed of light, the distance to the target is calculated within minimal tolerances. The laser itself is safely and durably installed. At close range, objects like grass or branches are masked out to prevent incorrect measurements. At greater distances, special target logic ensures that only the desired object is measured.

The pinnacle of ballistics development

The Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” uses the most advanced ballistics program. A ballistics calculator in the binoculars interacts with a ballistics app on the hunter’s smartphone. Binoculars and smartphone communicate via Bluetooth®. This way, settings selected in the app (data configuration) can be transferred to the binoculars (calculator) – and the binoculars can transfer measurement data to the app. Alternatively, instead of the app, a Kestrel® weather meter can be connected to the binoculars.

The Applied Ballistics Ultralight® software supplied with the binoculars offers a database of G1/G7 data and hundreds of factory ammunition cartridges. Leica’s extensive database is available, as well. The basic software version Ultralight® calculates trajectories and the respective corrections for an accurate holdover up to 875 yards. An upgrade to the Applied Ballistics Elite® version is easy to implement, offers greater calculation distances, and unlocks additional features. The Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” enables accurate shots over short, medium, and long distances. Special requirements can be met by entering wind direction and wind speed. Accuracy of +/- 0.5 yds at distances of up to 200 yds provides the results bow hunters require.

Tracking to a measured point with LPTTM (Leica ProTrack)

In addition to the rangefinder, the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” is equipped with a built-in compass. In conjunction with the ballistics calculator, the Geovid can determine geographical positions in the field. The last five distances measured are automatically stored, and can be accessed for navigation. In other words, the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” can safely guide the hunter to the target or another previously-measured point in the field. This happens via the smartphone display, which shows a simple compass needle or even a map based on Google Maps® or BaseMap®. The compass needle makes it easy to determine how to approach the target. On the background maps provided by Google Maps® or BaseMap®, the hunter can even see the position of the target embedded in a graphical terrain display. This makes the approach easy and safe, even under challenging conditions. This mature, highly-accurate GPS tracking feature addresses the long-standing need for a tool to quickly and ethically locate shot game.

Ergonomic powerhouse that fits in a pocket

An open-bridge design makes the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” very easy to grip. This allows the binoculars to be held with one hand, firmly yet relaxed. Even prolonged observation is possible without fatigue. The number of controls are kept to a minimum and the buttons are placed within easy reach. The Leica Geovid can be easily operated with gloves. Its gently curved shape, very compact dimensions, and low weight make the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” an inconspicuous daily companion that even fits in a waist pack.

Practically unlimited applications

Its small size, precise rangefinding, and top optical performance – comparable to premium binoculars without rangefinder – make the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” a universal glass. Especially on alpine hunts and when stalking, hunters can move freely without worry and rely on top performance under all conditions. The Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green” is key equipment for every hunting trip, keeping travelers prepared for any hunting situation in any part of the world without compromise, and with the smallest pack size. Thanks to its high light transmission, and a level of contrast previously unattained in Leica laser binoculars, the Geovid is even suitable for early twilight use, despite its small lens diameter of 32 millimeters. In more advanced twilight and complete darkness, the Leica Calonox thermal devices are at the ready: Together with the Leica Geovid Pro 32 “Edition Olive-Green”, they form an unbeatable duo for unrestricted 24-hour observation at the highest level.
