When every second counts, the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ reveals its capabilities. An open bridge, perfectly positioned, easy-grip controls and intuitive user guidance enable a quick and safe, reliable aim. Light travels at approximately 300,000 kilometers per second. The Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ measures the interval between the emission of the laser beam and the arrival of its reflection. In less than 0.3 seconds, the Geovid computer outputs the exact result. Measurement accuracy is +/- 0.5 meters at distances between 10 and 200 meters – ideal for bow hunters who require maximum precision at shorter distances. The maximum range of the laser in the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ is 2,950 meters. The integrated ballistics program Applied Ballistics Elite® also calculates the exact point of impact up to the maximum range. In addition, the new Shot Probability Analysis technology offers greater certainty and provides a valuable decision-making aid at a glance. The probability of an exact hit is calculated as a percentage and displayed in the field of view of the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ and in the app.

The Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ is the flagship and all-rounder

The new Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ is the ultimate all-rounder among Leica laser-rangefinder binoculars. This powerful model shines with highest performance in all areas. Fully-equipped, and with a range of up to 2,950 meters, it ticks all the boxes for long-range shooters, alpine hunters and hunters abroad. Thanks to the integrated ballistics program Applied Ballistics Elite®, the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ can calculate point of impact “out of the box”, even in very complex shooting situations right up to the maximum range. To do this, it uses an extensive database and sophisticated algorithms. The Applied Ballistics Elite® ballistics program even calculates trajectories over very long distances (up to 2,950 meters). With Bluetooth® connectivity to the Leica Ballistics App on the smartphone, the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ is completely at home in the digital world. Settings can easily be made on the rangefinder binoculars’ built-in computer via smartphone, thanks to a clear visualization of the Geovid control screen in the app. Parameters such as wind speed and direction can be entered manually in the device. The Geovid can also connect to devices from Kestrel® and Garmin® watches, use their sensors, computers and databases and thus include crosswinds (wind direction and wind speed) in point-of-impact calculation, for example. The top-class model Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ has built-in sensors for angle, air pressure and temperature, as well as a compass. All of these measured values are used to calculate the trajectory of the bullet and the point of impact with incredible accuracy.

Users can choose from three output types. 1. The simplest output is “EHR”, where the rangefinder takes the shot angle into account and displays the distance equivalent to a straight shot – this is the “equivalent horizontal range”. 2. “Unit correction” displays the point-of-impact displacement in the target, i.e. the classic holdover plus the lateral deviation (cm, in, MOA and MIL). 3. With the “click correction” output, the computer inside the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ indicates the necessary adjustment of the elevation and windage turrets on the riflescope. This allows the hunter or shooter to always hold dead center: the point of impact is where the reticle is. Of course, at 300 or 500 meters, a single click has a greater effect than it does at 100 meters. The program calculates this difference and specifies the exact clicks required for elevation and windage (lateral) adjustment.

Another unique feature of the Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ is the tracking system Leica ProTrack (LPTTM). With this system, the hunter can aim, mark, and find any point in the terrain – using the Geovid. This point is then displayed on the smartphone via three options: 1. The in-app GPS uses compass navigation to navigate to the destination. 2. A destination marker is set via Google Maps to find that destination in the terrain. 3. The destination data and marker points of the Geovid Pro are synchronized with the BaseMap® app and automatically used for navigation.

Leica ProTrack (LPTTM) makes it possible to safely mark a shot in the field over long distances and to find it reliably. Hunters have wanted target guidance a long time; now the engineers at Leica Sport Optics have delivered. This function is simple and safe.

“The Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ combines an excellent optical system, a precise laser rangefinder and an enormously powerful built-in ballistics program. In conjunction with the Leica Ballistics App and the tracking function, the hunter is well-equipped for every situation,” says Matthias Raff, Leica Sport Optics Product Manager.

Benefit 1: Bright, crystal-clear optics for best observation

The Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+ has outstanding, “best in class” optics – thanks to excellent workmanship, superior materials, and extremely efficient reduction of stray light and reflections. Benefit 4: Shot Probability Analysis

With the Leica Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+, for the first time, Shot Probability Analysis technology has been integrated in laser-rangefinder binoculars. An exclusive result of the cooperation between Leica Sport Optics and the leading manufacturer of ballistics software: Applied Ballistics®.

This involves calculating the probability of actually hitting the desired target point. The reliability of the four main parameters – distance, wind speed, rifle precision, muzzle velocity of the bullet – are evaluated. From this, their influence on possible deviations from the optimum shot are calculated. The expected influence is categorized as Low, Medium or High across all four parameters. In the Custom setting, the values can be programmed individually. The stored and already adjusted trajectory of the bullet is thus once again compared with uncertainty factors and the shooter is supported in making a safe decision.

All parameters are entered and displayed in detail on the smartphone, in the Leica Ballistic App. The display graphics are clean and clear. The expected hit density on a target or a game animal (e.g. elk or whitetail) can be visualized. A graphical representation in a diagram is also possible. A bar chart shows the respective influence of a parameter from 0 to 100 percent. In addition, parameters such as temperature, air pressure, shot angle, and shot direction can be shown.

A clear visualization of the most heavily-weighted, and therefore decisive, parameter allows the shooter to respond appropriately. For example, if the key parameter is the distance or the wind, the shooter should move closer to the target. The result of the Shot Probability Analysis appears as a percentage in the field of view of the Geovid Pro 10×42 AB+. This allows the shooter to decide quickly and safely whether to take the shot, or whether it’s better to improve the shooting conditions further.
